Owner, Jean du Rand has more than 8 years experience in business, five years experience in a Senior Managerial position, in the tourism industry. He boasts with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Psychology and has been registered as a professional Industrial Psychologist since 2001.
In his working career he has implemented numerous quality initiatives, presenting of training materials, the resolution of numerous tricky labour problems, implementation of marketing plans, business plans and quality plans. In his five years as General Manager of Protea Hotel Tsitsikamma Village the company’s revenue grew year on year. There was also an increase in on all dimensions of the quality scores annually on the Protea Hotel Quality Plan. As a developer of new talent he has promoted disadvantaged individuals to first line supervisory positions and management positions.

At an early age he has shown a flair for marketing, working with people and resolving difficult abstract problems. He attributes his success to a love for people, a willingness to learn, a vivid imagination and is motivated by mentors that always believed in his ability.
"I hardly ever wake up not thinking of improving some aspect of myself or my business or life," the young entrepreneur says.

Jean du Rand is a Port Elizabeth based Industrial Psychologist specialising in psychometric testing, career counselling, organisational interventions and labour relations. Jean du Rand features on Bay FM between 11:00 and 12:00 every last Monday of the month. He also provides an expert opinion in the “On the Job” section Work/Werk supplement of the Burger on job related matters on the last Monday of every month. He is a part-time Human Resources lecturer at Varsity College and enjoys developing young potential.
